In April 2026, we had the opportunity to visit the Porcelanosa Grupo complex in Spain. There, we gained insight into the brand’s history, the manufacturing process, and toured numerous showrooms, each more beautiful than the last. We were deeply inspired by the breathtaking tiles, high-quality bathroom fixtures, high-end kitchens, and innovative interior design solutions, and we’d like to share the most exciting highlights from our visit in this blog post.

Porcelanosa, a family-owned business

A Porcelanosa A Spanish family-owned business that has become one of the best-known international players in the premium flooring and bathroom solutions market. Interestingly, the family—like most in southern Spain—originally grew oranges, which is why references to oranges can be found here and there in various small details.

Founded in 1973, the company has since grown into a complex brand group with sub-brands such as Noken (bathroom), the Butech (technological solutions) or Gamadecor (kitchens and furniture). Porcelanosa is now present in more than 100 countries and offers not only tiles and bathroom fixtures but also comprehensive interior design solutions.

👉 Fun fact: The most popular dessert at the showroom lunch is the absolutely delicious orange platter, made with locally grown oranges.

State-of-the-art technology, outstanding quality

We began the program with an exciting factory tour, where we were able to take a look inside one of the processing plants. We learned that Porcelanosa was the first company on the market to use white clay in the manufacture of its products. The manufacturing technology has now become so advanced that there is hardly any need for human labor in the factory (quality control cannot be entrusted to robots); almost everything is done by precisely calibrated robots.

👉 Fun fact: The manufacturing facility is so huge that workers ride bicycles around inside it.

The Queen of the Kitchen

One of our absolute favorites is the Gamadekor, that is, a kitchen and furniture showroom where we got an up-close look at the latest trends and technological solutions. From hidden display cabinet hardware to recessed matte cooktops, specialty kitchen appliances, and decorative wall storage units, all the way to the latest furniture front designs—we’ll try everything.

In terms of materials, there is an abundance of wood veneer and stone-effect ceramics—reflecting current trends, yet featuring a timeless style and design.

The sliding kitchen backsplash provides extra storage space that can be hidden away with a single motion when it’s not needed. Designed with greater depth, this space can accommodate a microwave, small kitchen appliances, an air fryer, or even a drain tray behind the sink.

Exclusive Bathroom Solutions

The bathroom sections also showcased impressive designs, featuring a wide variety of decorative tiles, unique bathroom fixtures, and beautiful natural ceramic tiles.

Among tile coverings, I’d like to highlight one of our favorites, the L'Antic Colonial sub-brand, which is specifically designed for decorative purposes. The idea is to combine large-format natural tiles—which are often more affordable—with decorative tiles, one square meter at a time, to create a completely unique and personalized interior. The L'Antic Colonial These products are actually a great fit for hospitality venues, restaurants, bars, and even cafes; they can even serve as focal points in elegant stores.

Overall, bathrooms were also characterized by natural materials and understated yet unique interiors that evoked a sense of nature. We found this tour particularly inspiring, as we ourselves believe in focusing on timeless, high-quality solutions in our design work.

👉 Fun fact: The green marble bathtub shown in the first photo weighs nearly 700 kg.

During our visit to Spain, we gained a wealth of wonderful experiences, technical information, design solutions, and inspiring interior design ideas. Being able to experience firsthand the hard work and boundless expertise behind premium materials and furniture is invaluable. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Porcelanosa for the invitation and the superbly organized program!
